At Postcard we understand that spending time with loved ones is what really makes a holiday perfect. Therefore, it is just as important to make sure that the whole family is protected whilst away. Whether you are going away on a trip of a lifetime with your family or travelling around Europe, Postcard has you covered.
All Postcard policies offer the following benefits;
Postcard Single and Multi-trip policies offer family discounts, for both two parent families and single parent family policies. To get a quote click here.
This is an additional benefit included in our policies, to give extra assistance to families in the event of an emergency abroad. For example, if you were an in-patient following a medical emergency abroad and needed the support of a family member, we would contribute towards the costs of them flying out to help look after you. This cover is included as standard on all policies.
If a family member (who was not travelling with you) fell ill at home, you may want to cancel or cut short your trip to help look after them. However, many travel insurance policies will exclude claims if your relative had existing medical conditions, which can make claiming for older relatives very difficult.
At Postcard we understand that many medical conditions are now well controlled by treatment and medication, so at the time you booked your trip you weren’t expecting someone to fall ill. That is why we will always ensure we look upon your claim fairly and favourably when considering an existing medical condition.
In the event of a claim, our claims handlers may request further detail from your relative’s GP regarding their health at the time the travel insurance was purchased. This is to establish whether or not the cause for cancellation of curtailment is due to an unexpected change in health, that you could have not foreseen.
Postcard define a family member as any person who is related to you by blood, marriage, adoption, fostering or co-habitation.
Postcard define an existing medical condition as anything serious or a recurring medical condition which has been previously diagnosed or been investigated or treated in any way, at any time prior to travel, even if this condition is currently considered to be stable and under control.
We define a child as a dependent person who is under 18, living at home and in full time education.
It is important to understand what your travel insurance covers you for. This is why Postcard has created simple and easy to read policy wordings. For more details click here.
