Here at Postcard HQ we are very excited that after months looking at the same four walls, we might actually be able to get our summer back.

The smell of sun cream, the sound of the waves as they hit the beach, the fresh novelty of ‘all-inclusive’ (we’ll make that three desserts please, we’re on holiday).

We’re excited to announce that as of 13th August 2020 all our single and multi-trip policies come with enhanced cover for Coronavirus.

What does our Coronavirus cover include?

  • Available on all single and multi trips policies only
  • Cancellation cover if you are anyone named on the policy test positive for Coronavirus up to 14 days prior to travelling
  • Denied boarding cover if you and anyone named on the policy are prevented entry at the airport on your inbound flight due to showing symptoms of COVID-19
  • Protection if your airline goes into administration due to the pandemic
  • Cover for cancelling your trip, if you’re made redundant
  • No excesses, No jargon. No surprises hidden in small print.
  • Emergency Medical cover up to £10 million, including cover for COVID-19
  • 24/7 emergency medical helpline
  • Access to a UK-based GP at all times whilst abroad

Is Coronavirus cover included for domestic trips?

If you are travelling on a domestic trip to enjoy a well-deserved staycation you will find comfort knowing Postcard offers specialist staycation cover on our “Staycation Plus” policies. Our staycation product includes enhanced cover for coronavirus that offers additional benefits that are tailored to domestic travel, including:

  • Cancellation cover if you or anyone named on your policy test positive for COVID-19, 14 days before you are due to travel.
  • Cover for denied boarding on domestic flights as a result of showing symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Cover to come home early from your trip as a result of getting coronavirus.
  • 24/7 access to a UK based GP at any time during your trip.

Which Countries can you travel to?

The FCO has recently released their list of countries which us Brits are now allowed to travel to without exemption. They have also provided the list of countries which do not require any self-isolation upon return to England, as of 10th July (rules may differ if you live in a different part of the UK).

This has been made possible thanks to ‘travel corridor’ exemption agreements with other countries (cheers, Boris). You can find the full list here. The situation is currently ever-changing, so make sure you check this list before booking and keep an eye on it before travel. Our policies will not cover you to travel anywhere deemed unsafe by the FCO.

Coronavirus Travel Insurance

Below you can find an extensive list of the activities we provide cover for free of charge (listed under Standard Activities), plus the activities which will require payment of an additional premium (Options 2- 8). Please note, we also offer a winter sports extension and a sports equipment extension which offer additional cover for sports trips.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide cover for any activity if:

  • you do not hold the appropriate license or certificate
  • it involves manual labour
  • it is a professional event

Please Note: Whilst we can cover most activities, you will not be covered under the ‘If you are held legally liable for injury or damage’ section of the policy wording for any activity:

  • where you are in control of a motorised vehicle;
  • involving the use of a weapon;
  • involving a contact sport.
